Volunteering

Getting Involved

There a lots of way you can get involved. We welcome new volunteers, whether you wish to become a Committee Member and have a say in the allocation of funds to the school or by becoming a 'Friends' Helper and sparing 1 or 2 hours per term or year to help run events.

If you have something you want to share or don't yet know where you can help do get in touch and we'll email you to discuss how you can get involved.

How can I help?

The easiest way for you to help support us, help support your child/ren/s school, help support your child is by motivating your child/ren and your wider family and friends to take part in our regular and special events, and/or donate directly and/or buy through certain companies online.

As mentioned we are always seeking volunteers to help us run things. Tasks can be as quick or consuming as you and your work/life balance wishes. Whatever works for you is greatly appreciated.

Some examples of things you can help with are:

  • Sharing your ideas at a 'Friends' meeting.

  • Plan a stall at the Christmas or Summer Fair.

  • Fold raffle tickets in the comfort of your own home.

  • Selling raffle tickets to family and friends.

  • Letting us know about grants which we can apply for.

  • Taking payments at pre-loved uniform sales.

  • Contact companies (using our letter template) requesting raffle prize donations.

  • Shopping - when we have an event, we need people to pick up things for us when they do their grocery shopping, or help us find the best prices for things.

  • Help set up or close down at the Christmas or Summer Fair.,

  • Help on a stall at the Christmas or Summer Fair.

  • Take water round to other volunteers at a fair.

Volunteering for 'Friends' is a case of 'many hands make light work'. Tasks can be done, alone, with friends or with a team of committee members to support you. There is everybody for something and something for everybody.
